Siamese Probably the most popular registered cat, the Siamese is said to have many of the same qualities as a dog. For instance, he will walk on a leash, retrieve and loves human companionship. Reputedly once used to guard palace walls in Siam, he can jump and climb with great agility. The Siamese has a very distinctive tone of voice, may seem to talk incessantly, often very loudly, and his cry may sound like that of a baby.

Not completely proven, but accepted by most cat authorities, is the origin of the breed in Siam. However, most early breeding was done in England.

The Siamese cat is lean, graceful, medium-size with slim legs, tapering down to oval paws. His tail and head are long and the tail well-tapered. The bridge of his nose is straight and unbroken while his eyes are almond-shaped. The Siamese cat has a creamy-white colored body that tends to darken slightly with age. He can have "points" of any of four recognized colors-Seal-point, Chocolate-point, Blue-point or Lilac-point. The "points" of a Siamese cat include the feet and legs, tail, ears and the "mask" on the face. All Siamese have deep blue eyes, the deeper the color the better. Red-points and Lynx-point are also recognized in some associations-usually under the breed classification of Colorpoint Shorthairs.

The Siamese cat keeps his close-lying coat very clean. Having unusual intelligence, he can be taught many things. He is even more curious than most cats, extremely sensitive and alert. He demands attention and because he can be very loud, you will find it hard to ignore him. He loves high places and may often be found curled up on a windowsill enjoying the sun, as he is equally fond of warmth. The Siamese Kittens are extroverted and gregarious, bright but mischievous, impulsive and active, but is not vicious as has sometimes been said against him.
