Himalayan Cat

You are here: Breeds and Registration > Cat Breeds > Himalayan Cat

This breed has won a great many admirers over the past decade and is in great demand. Originally bred from Persians and Siamese cats, it took many generations of selective breeding to develop today's cats that are truly Persian-type with Siamese type coloring. The cats combine the gentleness and charm of the Persian with the intelligence and grace of the Siamese. They are recognized in 7 "point" colors and are seen in Sealpoint, Chocolate-point, Blue-point, Lilac-point, Tortie-point, Flame-point, and Blue-Cream point. The "points" of the cat are the feet and legs, tail, ears and face mask. The body structure, head and coat should all fit the Persian standard. All Himalayan colors have blue eyes, the deeper the blue the better.
